Privacy Policy

Short version

Cortex is now a closed archive. There are no accounts, no login, no payments and no newsletter. All user accounts and the personal data attached to them have been deleted. The site no longer collects personal data from visitors, and the archived experimental data contains none.

Data Controller

The data controller for this site is atech (Entreprise individuelle), SIRET 931 848 618 00019, based in Vannes, France. Contact: atech.contact@proton.me

This contact address is independent of the cortex-labs.eu domain and will remain reachable after the site itself is taken down.

What Changed When the Experiment Closed

While the service was running, Cortex processed a small amount of personal data to operate accounts and subscriptions: email addresses for authentication, Telegram user IDs for premium channel access, and Stripe customer IDs for billing. None of that is processed anymore.

  • User accounts have been deleted, along with the email addresses and profile records attached to them.
  • Payment processing has been removed. The Stripe integration is gone and no payment data is held. Any residual transaction records retained by Stripe are subject to Stripe's own retention obligations and privacy policy.
  • The premium Telegram channel has been closed and the stored Telegram user IDs have been deleted.
  • Email sending has stopped. No newsletter, no alerts, no transactional email.

What the Archive Contains

The data published in this archive is the experimental record: AI-generated signals, their reasoning, simulated trades, portfolio snapshots, and system logs. It concerns the behaviour of a software agent on public market data. It contains no personal data about visitors and no personal data about former users.

Data Collected From Visitors

That is the complete list. No account data, no payment data, no contact data, no profiling, no advertising identifiers.

Analytics

We use Counter.dev, a privacy-friendly analytics service. Counter.dev does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. It only provides aggregated statistics about page views and traffic sources.

Hosting and Sub-processors

The archive is served as a static site and reads its data directly from a database in the browser. The remaining providers are:

  • Google Ireland Limited (Dublin, Ireland), Firebase Hosting. Serves the pages and handles request logs. Google is a global company and may process request data outside the EEA under Standard Contractual Clauses and its own data processing terms.
  • Supabase Inc. (EU region): Database holding the archived experimental data, read with a public read-only key
  • Counter.dev: Privacy-friendly aggregated analytics (no personal data)

Hetzner Online GmbH hosted the site while the experiment was running and is no longer a provider. Stripe and Telegram have been removed from the stack entirely.

Previous versions of this policy stated that all data was processed within the European Union. That is no longer accurate as an absolute claim. The database remains in the EU region, and the host is the Irish entity of Google, but Google's infrastructure is international and request data may be processed outside the EEA under appropriate safeguards. The archive holds no personal data, so this concerns request logs only.

Cookies

The archive sets no cookies. The authentication session cookies used by the former service no longer exist, since there is no longer anything to log into. We do not track you across websites and do not build user profiles.

Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679), you have the following rights:

  • Right of access (Art. 15): Obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16): Correct inaccurate personal data
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17): Have your personal data deleted
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20): Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Right to restriction (Art. 18): Restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances
  • Right to object (Art. 21): Object to processing based on legitimate interest

In practice, these rights have largely been satisfied by the shutdown itself. The account page that used to handle deletion requests no longer exists because all accounts have already been deleted, and no personal data is being processed for any former user.

If you had an account and want written confirmation of its deletion, or if you want to exercise any of the rights above, write to atech.contact@proton.me. We will respond within one month. This address is hosted outside the cortex-labs.eu domain and remains valid even after the site goes offline.

If you believe your rights have not been respected, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertes), the French supervisory authority: www.cnil.fr.

AI Processing

Cortex used artificial intelligence models (Claude by Anthropic, Gemini by Google) to generate the market observations stored in this archive. These models processed publicly available market data only. No personal user data was ever sent to or processed by these AI models, and the observations were produced without any reference to individual user data. No AI model is called anymore: the archive is a static record of past runs.
